Risks and complexity integrated management : driving Company results and apprenticeship

Risks and complexity managements are major concerns for many a professional. Theories exist (perspectives theory, systemic risks, system architecture..) as well as voluntary standards applied to national and international levels( (COSO, ISO, AMF…).

However, how many professionals have at their disposal risk key indicators (KRI) and complexity key indicators (KCI) which integrate the objectives and  allow to manage at the best deviations from daily expectations ?

This question can be raised at product level, project level, project portfolio and even at the whole of  subsidiary  activities. We can also raise this question in the frame of an integrated approach at company level. An ERM (Enterprise Risk Management) is proposed to that end.
A thorough reading of stakeholders and dimensions included is necessary for a Corporate Governance. But is that sufficient for a mission accomplishment of the company within its active surrounding? Besides principles and qualitative requirements are generally well understood, while transformation into approaches, methodologies and operating tools for professionals are nonexistent for non-financial companies; the risks which may surge or not are not included in the legal accountancy, ERM does not deal with complexity.

This transversal working group aims at a general approach such as proposed by the Ministry of National Education, Research and High Level Teaching to identify Research and Development activities and promote new products, processes or adapted services : for an integrated risks and complexity management allowing better conciliation of technical, economic and financial (uncertain) with the account expectations and a better collective apprenticeship.

In a first step, WG activities will be a « state of the art constitution »and « missing knowledge identification » through WG members presentations. In a second step, for those who wish, R&D activities could be performed rather under applied research form and/or experimental development than fundamental research, The projects could be IMdR type, or FUI (Fonds Unique Interministériel) or PSPC  (Projets de Recherche et Développement Structurants pour la Compétitivité).

All the IMdR capacities as well as the included formal systems, such as dependability, risks management, cindynics, will be necessary for the analysis. The works can be performed along with expertise in the insurance area, bank, computer science or mathematics depending on the purposes.The works have to be adapted to groups and Intermediate Size Establishments.
